Please note that all nominees other than Student Representatives must be a Fellow member of BCPAS and current on membership dues. A Fellow is a practicing or retired Physician Assistants as defined by the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

President-Elect: The President-Elect shall serve for one year, in transition to the elected office of President, as a voting member on the Board of Directors. His or her assumption of duties and responsibilities as President will occur concurrently with the installation of new officers on the first anniversary of his or her election. The President-Elect shall not be subject to assignment of other duties by the President or the Board of Directors.

Vice President: When the president is absent, is unable to act, or refuses to act, a the Vice President shall perform the duties of the president. When a the Vice President acts in place of the president, the Vice President shall have all the powers of and be subject to all the restrictions upon the President. If there is more than one Vice President, the Vice Presidents shall act in place of the president in the order of the votes received when elected. A The Vice President shall perform other duties as assigned by the President or Board of Directors.

Secretary: The Secretary give all notices as provided in the By-laws or as required by law.  Take minutes of the meetings of the members and of the Board of Directors and keep the minutes as part of the corporate records.  Maintain custody of the corporate records and of the seal of the Corporation.  Affix the seal of the Corporation to all documents as authorized.  Keep a register of the mailing address of each member, director, officer and employee of the Corporation.  Perform duties as assigned by the president or by the Board of Directors.  Perform all duties incident to the office of secretary.

Treasurer: The treasurer shall annually review/approve the organization’s budget, financial, and conference budget. Help ensure that there are adequate financial resources to meet the organization’s needs. Avoid all conflicts of interest. If some exist, be transparent and notify the board. Assist management with leads to raise a minimum of $1000 during the fiscal year. This can be done through membership, conference sponsorship, grants or other new innovative ways of bringing in revenue. Write checks and disburses funds to discharge obligations of the Corporation. Prepare financial reports at least annually. Perform other duties as assigned by the President or by the Board of Directors.  

Director at Large: The Director at Large shall participate in board meetings, serve a two year term and serve as an advisor on topics related to BCPAS and shall perform such other duties as shall be assigned by the President or Board of Directors.

Student Representative: The Student Representative shall act as a liaison between the BOD and all student members of the organization. The Student Representative shall assist in conducting affairs of the organization as designated by the President. He or she shall encourage student participation and involvement on all BCPAS committees, teams, and/or projects. The Student Representative will be a member of the Scholarship Committee.
